At the end of the sampling time, a quick procedure to prepare the slide for microscopical reading only requires placing a few drops of Calbera stain onto the collecting surface, a glass cover slip over traces. The slide is then ready for observation/counting microscopically. No sticky tapes, or tiny rods to deal with.

I like this unit. It is especially great for long term studies.
Here is some things. I used this unit on a daily basis with someone I worked with before I went off on my own. So naturally this was the unit I wanted and purchased when I bought my own. I was dissapointed that it had an external instead of internal battery pack. It really isn't designed for day to day IAQ use. also there is no audible tone when the sample is complete, and the unit must have its timer completely reset every time it is unplugged.
I (wish I could review) bough the aero-trap. I think it is a much more flexible unit for speedy sampling. If you buy an aero trap be sure to purhase the hard case, or it's own pelican, as it is a fragile instrument.

This is the ultimate air sampling machine. Been using this daily in the field
for more than 5 years now and I would never go back to the pump and
spore trap method. I like it so much I bought 2 so I have a backup when
the other is being calibrated. Eliminates the need for and cost of spore
traps, a battery pack comes with the unit for locations where no electricity
is available, very small and easy to carry from room to room. Saves
money on supplies as Allergenco Slides are just a few cents each and I've
never had any problems with the labs reading these slides. I like the fact
that I can see my trace after each sample too, so I can confirm I got a
good sample. EMS Sales has been servicing my units and their service is
fast, efficinet and very reasonable.
